In the old days, phone announcements were made all in one go, at a single event, with no official specifications being released in advance by the makers themselves. Remember that? It was a different time. With its long-term drip-feeding of little morsels technique of building and maintaining buzz, OnePlus revolutionised the game.
That’s precisely what vivo sub-brand iQOO has been doing with the Neo6 SE, which is based on the same principle. Even though this phone will be officially unveiled on May 6, we’ll know everything about it before then—and directly from iQOO.
This morning, the business finally addressed the big question mark hanging over the phone’s release: how many cameras will be included. The Neo6 SE’s primary back camera will be a 64MP device with OIS, which was previously unknown.
On paper, it seems to be the same as the Neo6, which has already been released. Since these two devices have different SoCs, this might explain why they are so different. The Neo6 SE features a Snapdragon 870, whereas the Neo6 uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 ARM processor. If prior rumours are correct, the screens seem to be similar as well, so we’re eager to find out if there are any further changes between the two. So, stay tuned for more iQOO teasers.
