In two episodes of ‘Blonded Radio,’ the new material was used to accompany chats with a psychotherapist and a Chinese healer, respectively.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the publication of his first album, ‘Channel Orange,’ Frank Ocean has offered previously unreleased material.
Ocean’s Apple Songs 1 program Blonded Radio played the new music in two episodes that aired on Sunday (July 10). It comprises an interview with Dr. James Fadiman (a psychologist and author), who discusses microdosing and psychedelics, accompanied by an instrumental music by Ocean. ‘Blonde Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ is the first episode.
A healer and instructor Mingtong Gu, who specializes in the Chinese healing technique of Qigong, is featured in the second episode, “Blonded ENERGY!” In addition to the Ocean-produced soundtrack, both episodes may be heard here.
Blonded Radio shirts and a “Channel Orange” poster have been added to the musician’s web shop.
As part of the Christmas special, Ocean performed an almost nine-minute song on the show. Dutch motivational speaker Wim “The Iceman” Hof was the guest on this week’s show.
‘Channel Orange’ was released in 2012, and ‘Blonde’ was released in 2016. ‘DHL’ and ‘In My Room’ are two of the artist’s most recent singles. In addition, he made ‘Cayendo’ and ‘Dear April,’ formerly vinyl-only tunes, available for streaming.
Ocean is said to be preparing to make his directorial debut in the near future.
