When a woman’s iPhone alerted her to the existence of an AirTag in her car’s trailer hitch, a Pennsylvania guy was arrested.
According to WXPI,
Unknown to him, a lady complained to the police that she got a message that an AirTag in the area had detected his presence, leading to the arrest of an Apollo resident.
When the woman’s iPhone detected the AirTag in her car’s metal trailer hitch receiver, she immediately phoned the police. A 56-year-old man named Ronald Roessler has been accused of “any role” in the incident, and he consented to show police his phone “and he removed the AirTag in front of the trooper,” according to the article.
AirTag privacy and security were taken extremely seriously by Apple, the company said in a statement, adding that the gadget was developed with anti-stalking capabilities that led to its discovery and arrest.
