The front display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 might be made broader, and the camera underneath the display could be improved.
It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 leaks season has begun now that the S22 unveiling is over.
There are still three Galaxy S22 phones that have yet to be unwrapped, but leakers Doyhun Kim and Chunv8888 (via Notebookcheck) have provided us with some information on the upcoming Samsung foldable. Assuming that these rumours are accurate, Samsung’s Z Fold 4 is likely to be a solid product once again.
Here, we’ll examine whether or not Samsung has made changes to the under-display camera of the Z Fold 4 compared to what it had on the Z Fold 3. The Galaxy S23 series, which has been speculated for a year, might have these under-display cameras as too, if Kim is to be believed. If Samsung decided to include these cameras in its most popular phone, it would be a strong statement of confidence in its new technology.

Perhaps the improvements aren’t as big as they sound. In response to Kim’s initial tweet, Chunv8888 remarked that a friend of theirs who had experienced the Z Fold 4 prototype claimed that any improvement in under-display camera photographs wasn’t that significant. In light of today’s under-display cameras, which are functional but lack the clarity of sensors embedded in punch-holes or notches, that appears more feasible.
Chunv8888 didn’t stop there when it came to the under-display cameras. As far as the Z Fold 4 prototypes go, Samsung seems to be experimenting with different aspect ratios on the front display. No one knows which version Samsung will choose, but Chun says there are variants that are identical to the Z Fold 3 and others that have a whole different design.
The front display of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is much smaller than that of a typical smartphone. Since of this, and because the phone is so thick when folded up, typing lengthy messages on it isn’t optimal compared to when it’s unfurled. Given how much we like having a larger screen in front of our eyes on the Oppo Find N and the Honor Magic V, this is a welcome adjustment for next year’s Z Fold.
Samsung’s prior timelines for foldable launches indicate that the Z Fold 4 would be released in the second half of 2018. Rumors thus far suggest that the upcoming Z Fold may be less expensive, lighter, and more water and dust resistant thanks to a revised hinge design.
There may still be no place to keep a suitable S Pen in the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was recently introduced and comes with an integrated S Pen, is particularly disappointing in this regard.
