iOS 16.1 brings battery percentage to all iPhones with Face ID

Since the iPhone acquired Face ID, the status bar could no longer display the battery % due to the large notch that now occupies most of the available area. In order to see the remaining battery percentage, users have to drag down the control centre on their iPhone.

Battery percentage was introduced with iOS 16 as a feature, and when it was turned on, it displayed the % number directly above the battery indicator in the status bar. Except for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini, it was added to all iPhones with Face ID.

Several users noted on the MacRumors forums that the battery percentage feature now enables all iPhones with FaceID notches to display a number over the battery symbol in the first Beta build of iOS 16 for developers.
