The update requires a 1,500MB download and includes a number of improvements for folding phones, including enhanced multitasking with a new taskbar and options to change the call background, improve search, and modify motion smoothness. Also included is the security patch from August 1.

The updated software will also be released for the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip.

The most important features of Android 12L and OneUI 4.1.1 are the new taskbar, which automatically appears when you’re in the app drawer or in the apps screen and allows you to quickly jump from app to app, quickly open apps in split screen view, and save your favorite split-screen pairs and open them directly.

There’s a new two-finger gesture to switch between full and split screen – just swipe inward from the left or right side, or from the bottom of the screen.
