Honor pad x8 is official with unannounced chipset, ancient Android version

This week, Honor unveiled a number of new products for its native market of China in addition to the X40. A cost-effective tablet has joined the economical phone. It’s named the Honor Pad X8, and it shouldn’t be confused with the Honor Pad 8 that was released back in July or the Honor Pad X8 Lite that just just appeared on the company’s website.

The Honor Pad X8 comes with a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 IPS touchscreen, a yet-unannounced MediaTek chipset labeled only as MT8786, which has an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, 6GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of storage, a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front-facing camera, and a 5,100 mAh battery.

The tablet runs three-year old Android 10 for whatever reason, with Honor’s Magic UI 4.0 on top. It measures 240.2 x 159 x 7.55 mm and weighs 460g. It’s already up for order in china, in Dawn Blue, at a special introductory price of CNY 1,299 ($186 or €185 at the current exchange rates). After the initial sale concludes, the price goes up to CNY 1,399 ($200 or €200). A Mint Green option should arrive at some point in the future too.
