The latest trailer for The Batman, which debuted on Warner Bros. Pictures’ YouTube page and features Paul Dano’s dark new take on the Riddler as well as a glimpse of Batman and Catwoman’s tenuous relationship, has completely changed our minds.
The film comes from director Matt Reeves and is set to release exclusively in theatres on March 4, 2022.

If you’re of a certain age, you might remember Jim Carrey as The Riddler in 1995’s Batman Forever. Carrey brought a certain brand of… uh, lunacy to the character, but he didn’t come across as a convincing crime lord or potential rival to Batman.
However, Paul Dano’s Riddler isn’t messing around. His willingness to kill mercilessly – as evidenced by the trailer – demonstrates that The Riddler is just as insane as The Joker and just as eager to discover who is hiding beneath Batman’s cowl. He’s giving off some serious Jigsaw vibes.
This lethal intent to discover who The Batman is while destroying Wayne’s legacy is proving to be a superbly compelling plotline for a Batman film.
