remain awful
FIFA 23 may be the best soccer game ever for bad sports fans because it allows you to disable commentary that berates your subpar performance.
EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now play FIFA 23 early access before it is made available to the general public. But they’ll discover a peculiar option waiting for them, as Eurogamer noted.
There is a toggle in FIFA 23 to disable “Critical Commentary.” The setting enables you to muffle any critical remarks made about your play during a game, protecting your cherished ego even when you miss an obvious foul or an open goal. The kinder criticism won’t be impacted.
Save your emotions
Children and new players who don’t want their confidence destroyed right away after picking up the controller appear to be the target audience for the feature. However, even seasoned players who just so happen to be lousy at the game could profit.
But it’s not flawless. The feature didn’t appear to function during a FIFA Ultimate Team Division Rivals match, according to Eurogamer, and critical comments appeared to bypass the filter. But who hasn’t benefited from an occasional light grilling?
FIFA 23 has a number of new features in addition to polite commentary. It is the first game in the series to feature female club football teams and fancy updated animations that make use of the latest hardware from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Since FIFA 23 will be the last of EA’s soccer games to be released with the official FIFA licence, the company will be hoping to go out on a high note.
If turning off criticism doesn’t help you get better at soccer, maybe assembling a team of Marvel heroes will. Although Ted Lasso wandering the pitch might not make things much better.
The full release of FIFA 23 is scheduled for this Friday, September 30.
