Upadted: Nets star Kevin Durant’s emotional Kobe Bryant confession amid rampant trade rumors

The Boston Celtics have been linked to a trade for Kevin Durant, and it has dominated recent NBA headlines. However, the Brooklyn Nets superstar has remained silent on these latest trade rumors as a possible move to New York City gains momentum.

Even though trade speculations are rife, KD took to Twitter on Monday night, and his tweet had nothing to do with it. As a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, he used the nickname “Bean”:

During the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Durant came across a random video of Team USA’s medal presentation. The Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was also a key member of the gold-medal winning squad (he was the team’s best scorer throughout the tournament). KD couldn’t help but shed a few tears as he reminisced about his time with the Black Mamba.

It was Durant’s honest admission that he misses Kobe every day. Bryant died in a helicopter crash in January of 2020, along with his daughter Gianna and seven other people. It’s obvious that KD hasn’t forgotten about his “dog” and still uses the term frequently.

It’s likely that Kobe Bryant is watching Kevin Durant’s summer from afar as he continues to make headlines.
