This week, rebranding has been a major source of smartphone-related rumors. The iPhone 14 Plus is actually the iPhone 14 Max, according to rumors that first surfaced. The Samsung Galaxy Note now appears to have a chance to survive, albeit as the Samsung Galaxy S Ultra.

Popular Samsung leaker Ice Universe translated a comment from Roh Tae-moon, chief of mobile experience at Samsung, in a post on Twitter(opens in new tab). Roh says, “Starting this year, Galaxy Note will arrive in the shape of S Ultra every year,” in the quoted passage.

Since neither Roh nor Samsung have issued a formal statement to the media, we must still consider this to be a rumor. However, it appears more likely than not that this quotation is authentic considering the source and the image of Roh speaking that is included with it.

Samsung Galaxy S Ultra: What happened to the Samsung Galaxy Note?

Previously, Samsung’s smartphone lineup’s productivity flagship was the Galaxy Note series. Many users praised the phone’s high-end features, like the S Pen that was included and the phone’s enormous high-end screen. The writing was on the wall, though, when Samsung chose to forgo 2021 for the Note. Samsung made the formal announcement that the Note was discontinued in February 2022.

Thank goodness, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra appeared to be the (great) spiritual successor for admirers of the Samsung Galaxy Note. We may anticipate a Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone with “Note-like” characteristics every year now that the “spiritual” adjective may no longer be required.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: What do we know about the next phone?

There aren’t many rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup at the moment, however a little bit of information may have leaked. The release window is currently expected to occur sometime in the first half of 2023, but that has not yet been verified.

But the rumors we do know are mostly about cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, according to GalaxyClub, would both have a 12MP front camera, which would be an improvement over current models. There may be a camera improvement on the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra as well. The upcoming flagship smartphone may have a 200MP main camera, according to Ice Universe, however this idea has been around since the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and may not be genuine.
