Despite a disappointing design hint, this Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rumor includes fantastic camera news.
Instead of using a module-less design like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to use the same back camera design as the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
According to TechTalkTV(opens in new tab), the Galaxy Z Fold 4 won’t have its back cameras integrated into its chassis (seen above), contrary to earlier rumors. Instead, it will feature a more conventional module design. Some people may find it to be a little disappointing since they would have hoped that the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s strong design cues will carry over to the next foldables.
The good news is that a 50MP primary camera is expected for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and is said to be a feature that will “for definitely” be included.
Now, I advise you to proceed with caution when believing any phone speculations, particularly because leaks of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 have mostly originated from bits of information rather than actual specifications or models. Of course, some nicely integrated back cameras would be wonderful, but the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s primary camera module is scarcely that thick to begin with, so I want an improvement to it with the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now my secondary phone while I’m out and about, joining the iPhone 13 Pro. It’s unquestionably the greatest folding phone, but it’s far from flawless. In addition to its girth, the back cameras are one of my major pet peeves, particularly given that it launched at a price of $1,799.
While excellent, the 12MP primary camera falls short of the Galaxy S22’s and the 108MP camera on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The 12MP ultrawide and telephoto cameras are adequate, however I firmly believe that the primary camera can be made better. And increasing the primary sensor to 50MP may be the solution.
With Samsung’s most recent Galaxy phones, computational photography and color science have become much more interesting to me, so adding the ability to capture more detail means it might give the Galaxy Z Fold 4 a significant camera enhancement. When you combine the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with additional rumored improvements like a potent Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a less noticeable crease, and the ability to split apps more easily access the folding display, the device could be an awesome mobile workhorse for taking and editing pictures and videos while you’re on the go.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 may be a knockout of a folding phone if only Samsung could include a S Pen holder. According to the rumors, that won’t be the case. Regardless, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are both expected to be unveiled in August by Samsung, following the company’s previous releases of its flagship foldables.
