Potential Huawei Mate 50 Pro design reviled in case renders

Trade penalties caused havoc with Huawei’s development plans, so despite numerous rumors suggesting “maybe,” the Mate 50 was not released last year. Although the company hasn’t given up, a VP in February confirmed that a new Mate series will eventually be released. And this is how it might appear.

These renderings were made by case manufacturers of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. Instead of opting for the two-circle look of the P50 series, the design still placed the cameras on a circular island in the centre. This year, there won’t be a Leica logo in the middle. The P50 Pocket did not have one either, demonstrating that Huawei did not suddenly lose the ability to produce high-quality cameras.

There isn’t much information available regarding the Mate 50 series, but we do know that it will employ a high-end chipset with a 4G option, like the P50 Pro, for instance. By employing a casing with an eSIM and 5G modem, one company was able to add 5G connectivity. Of course, the renderings above are of a typical transparent silicone case, but if the 5G case solution works, we might start seeing it in more models.
