The pair has a long history in Silicon Valley and both Brin and Musk are among the top ten richest persons in the world. According to The Wall Street Journal, Brin contributed Musk around $500,000 for Tesla in 2008 amid the financial crisis, and in 2015, Musk gave Brin one of Tesla’s first fully electric sport-utility cars.

“For the sake of our child, I hope Sergey and I can move forward in dignity, honesty, and peace. And that is something that we are both aiming for,” added Shanahan. In January, Brin filed for divorce from Shanahan.

Musk and a Shanahan spokesman did not answer to calls for comment, and a lawyer for Brin declined to speak with the Journal about the matter.

Elon Musk’s already challenging month in both his professional and personal life is made more difficult by the news. In terms of business, he attempted to withdraw his $44 billion offer to purchase Twitter, and Tesla is experiencing supply chain problems. At his company SpaceX, Musk was also recently accused of making himself vulnerable to a flight attendant.

In terms of his private life, it was discovered that Musk had twins in secret with a senior executive who works for his company Neuralink. What’s more, just weeks before publicly welcoming his child with Grimes, Musk privately celebrated the birth of the twins and tweeted that he was “doing his best to help the underpopulation crisis.”
