According to authorities, the rapper, whose real name was Javorius Scott, was shot and killed on Wednesday in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
According to police, rapper JayDaYoungan was gunned down in his hometown of Bogalusa Wednesday.
Javorius Scott, better known by his stage name “23 Island,” was killed in a shooting in Bogalusa, Louisiana, just before 6 p.m., authorities said.
Kenyatta Scott Sr., identified by police as a close family member, was also injured but was in stable condition, according to authorities.
As soon as police received the call about 5:50pm, they found one victim in severe condition and another who had been transferred to a nearby hospital.
One of the gunshot victims, JayDaYoungan, was eventually recognized by the department and declared dead from his wounds.
Late Wednesday, Atlantic Records, which had been representing the rapper, did not return a call for comment.
