Latest: JayDaYoungan Shot Dead at 24: Police Explain What Happened to Rapper

Rapper JayDaYoungan, 24, was gunned down on July 27 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, where he grew up.

According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. and injured two more people.

Atlantic Records signed the rapper, whose real name is Javorius Scott. The record company has been approached by Newsweek for comment.

JayDaYoungan’s whereabouts are unknown.

In a post on its Facebook page on Wednesday night, the Bogalusa Police Department reported that an individual was killed in a gunshot outside a home in the 600 block of Superior Avenue.

According to the statement, when officers arrived, “discovered that one victim had been transferred to Our Lady of the Angels Emergency Room by [privately owned car]. [Paramedics] treated a critically injured additional victim who was still present at the site “first, then the emergency room (ER).

The rapper’s death was confirmed by the police department at approximately 11 p.m. local time on Wednesday.

The 24-year-father old’s is presumed to be Kenyatta Scott Sr.

According to the police statement, Bogalusa detectives “are now conducting interviews and working leads.” The Bogalusa Police Department has been contacted by Newsweek for additional information.

Who Was JayDaYoungan?

For his hits “Elimination,” “Opps,” and “23 Island,” a 24-year-old rapper became a household name in the mid- to late-2010s. In March of 2022, he released his most recent EP, All Is Well.
