F1 French Grand Prix LIVE!

F1 champion and defending champion Max Verstappen won the French Grand Prix on Sunday after Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc suffered a collision and dropped to 63 points behind his Red Bull teammate.

Lewis Hamilton finished second in his 300th GP — securing a fourth-straight podium — while George Russell overtook Sergio Perez’s Red Bull following a virtual safety car restart late in the race to give Mercedes their first podium double of the season.

Leclerc’s race ended on Lap 18 as he lost the rear of his car coming out of Turn 11, spinning 360 degrees before crashing into a tyre wall. Leclerc could barely talk at first, breathing deeply in his helmet before telling his team the disaster was caused by another throttle failure, and then letting out an angry “Noooooooooo!”. It was his third DNF of the season, and Ferrari’s eighth in as many races, and it happened only two weeks after a throttle issue nearly cost him the Austrian GP victory.
