“El Big Papi” has brought joy and renewed hope to youngsters with heart illness through a children’s fund.

More than a thousand children in the Dominican Republic and the United States have benefited from this fund’s generosity by receiving critical medical care.


David Ortiz was awarded the Roberto Clemente Award in 2011 for this act of love for the lives of youngsters.

When “El Big Papi” is inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame on Sunday, a whole community will be filled with excitement and pride because of his contributions since the foundation have allowed them to enjoy the joy of their children.

There will be a heart classic in Boston this weekend
Boston Heart Classic, Ortiz’s annual charity golf tournament, just ended. He raised $500,000 for the “David Ortiz Children’s Fund” in this episode.


In addition, Ortiz and Raquel Arbaje, the first lady of the Republic, recently donated a $1 million pediatric hemodynamics room to the Centers for Diagnostic and Advanced Medicine and Medical Conferences and Telemedicine (Cedimat).
