“Scan Text” has been added to the iPhone and iPad’s Notes app as a shortcut for swiftly scanning printed or handwritten text into the Notes app, which was published in iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4.

The Scan Text function was recently shown in a video by Apple. Open the Notes app on your iOS 15.4 or iPadOS 15.4 device, hit the camera icon, choose “Scan Text,” and then tap the insert button to add the text to your note. It’s that simple. As a bonus, the Reminders app now features a “Scan Text” shortcut.

Previously, scanning text into the Notes app required touching on a note’s text field and selecting the Live Text button.
