Actor Jeff Bridges is cast in a role that is very different from that of The Dude
Fans of Thomas Perry and Jeff Bridges have been eagerly anticipating The Old Man’s release date for some time. And it’s hard to blame them. There’s no doubt this new series, which stars Bridges as former CIA operative Dan Chase, is exactly what many people are looking for.
Bridges is pitted against an old friend, Harold Harper, in The Old Man, which may have been named “The Old Man’s Still Got It” (John Lithgow). Harper, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence, had a complicated relationship with Chase, so he was the ideal person to call. It could be because he understands that Chase isn’t going to be put down so quickly.

The CIA’s Raymond Waters (EJ Bonilla) has also been brought in by Harper to help with the investigation. After that, what happens? Well, Julian Carson (The Wire’s Gbenga Akinnagbe), a ringer, has already been contracted.
Chase has one ally in this fight: Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman), the woman he rents a room from, who is still trying to rebuild her trust after a tumultuous divorce.

The Old Man premieres on FX at 10 p.m. ET on Thursday (June 16) in the United States, but you can also catch it on Hulu. Cord-cutters will prefer the latter, but the former is also accessible. With or without a computer, one of the top streaming services is available to you.
