It’s almost time for the game! Sony will introduce a host of new PS5 games, as well as PSVR 2 games, today at a press event. Sony State of Play streaming times and what to expect from the presentation are all here for your convenience.

For the most part, the State of Play broadcasts from Sony are semi-regular programmes that offer either detailed dives into certain PS5 games, like as the 20-minute gameplay reveal of Hogwarts Legacy, or a showcase of new games, as was the case in March. Sony has promised 30 minutes of announcements and updates on titles from third-party publishers at today’s State of Play.

There hasn’t been much in the way of new PlayStation 5 titles to look forward to, so it’s about time.

On top of that, Sony claims that it would provide players a “preview” of numerous upcoming PSVR 2 titles in its announcement post(opens in new tab). The headgear is expected to launch with around 20 titles, so there’s a lot to look forward to. That long-awaited gadget may finally be coming to fruition after all.

There will be a State of Play on Thursday, June 2 at 3pm PT/ 6pm ET/11pm BST/8am AEST (June 3).

The State of Play will be streamed live on Twitch(opens in new tab) and YouTube (opens in new tab).

Despite the fact that E3 was cancelled, this is normally the time of year when huge press conferences are held by game publishers and platform holders to show off future games. A few weeks ago, Microsoft revealed their Xbox & Bethesda Showcase for June 12th, and the Summer Games Fest officially begins on June 9th. Just a little bit ahead of the curve here.

In the coming week, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony announced a second State of Play focusing entirely on PS5 first-party games.

I expect to see a new trailer for Forspoken and an update on Saints Row during the Sony State of Play event on June 2, but the developer of Abandoned may be keeping its head down following the Silent Hill and Kojima reports. Bloober Team is reportedly working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. It’s possible that this is where it’ll be revealed.

In the coming week, there will be a flurry of speculation, and I am here for it.
