In order to allow developers and general public beta testers to evaluate the new iPhone operating system before its official release in the fall, Apple introduced iOS 16 during its Worldwide Developers Conference.

Widgets, new Messages capabilities including Mark as Unread and the option to amend or remove sent messages, new Focus filters, new SharePlay functionality, and more are all included in iSO 16. Additionally, this version comes with a Fitness app that can be used without an Apple Watch and an iCloud Shared Photos Library.

Will iOS 16 Work on My iPhone?

How to Find Out Your iPhone Model

You may find the model name in Settings -> General -> About if you’re not sure what iPhone model you have.

By heading to Settings -> Software Update, you can also determine which version of iOS is installed on your device. Your iPhone will alert you here if an update is available.

You may check back here in the Settings app after the new version is officially announced to make sure your iPhone stays up to date with all the latest features. iOS 16 won’t be released until fall 2022, most likely in or around October.
