Google Pixel Fold display specifications have just been leaked

Must Read

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the previous major Google Pixel Fold leak, but fresh information about this impending foldable phone has appeared. The Pixel Fold’s displays will be 7.57 inches on the inside and 5.78 inches on the outside, according to a subscriber-only tweet from Ross Young(opens in new tab).

When compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, the Pixel Fold’s main rival, which has a 7.6-inch inner panel and a 6.2-inch outer display, the Pixel Fold appears to be a similar size when open but may be more compact when closed. That could be helpful for portability, but it could also mean that the outer display is difficult to utilise fully, as with prior Galaxy Z Fold versions.

Young adds that both Pixel Fold screens are manufactured by Samsung Display. While this may appear strange given that Samsung and Google are competitors, Samsung Display is its own firm that can sell outside of Samsung, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and earlier phones in these series have demonstrated that they can build a solid flexible panel. So Google’s decision to go with them makes sense.

Finally, Young states that a limited number of displays have already been shipped to Google. With the Pixel Fold’s rumoured release date set for May 2023, it stands to reason that Google would begin to put this phone together, even if only for testing purposes.

According to other Pixel Fold speculations, the phone could cost $1,799, the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It also appears to have a Pixel 7-like design, with a camera bar on the back, a 9.5MP front camera, and a “Pixel flagship camera” on the back, which is likely to be the same 50MP camera used on the Pixel 7 Pro.

We’ll be waiting for the Pixel Fold with bated breath, since it could finally be a worthy contender to the Galaxy Z Fold. While there are many great foldables available, such as the Oppo Find N, they aren’t sold outside of China, leaving Samsung with the American market to itself for the time being. It will be fascinating to observe if the top
