Chris Evans got the wrong update on his iPhone 6s

Is it possible that Captain America erred in judgment?

Chris Evans’ eulogy for his iPhone 6s, which he shared on social media following the phone’s demise, revealed that the actor’s smartphone priorities are both sympathetic and charming.

It’s time to say goodbye to the iPhone 6s. My teammates and I had a great time. Your home button will be missed. My nights of battling with you to get you to charge will be missed. Maybe it’s your blurry photos. Or your battery suddenly depletes from 100% to 15% to 0% in a matter of minutes. It was quite the experience. Then you may unwind.”

He also uploaded a picture of his iPhone 6s alongside what appears to be a newer iPhone 13 or 13 Pro on Instagram(opens in a new tab). I believe he should have made a different choice when purchasing a new phone based on the criteria or reasons he liked and disliked his previous phone.

Yes, the iPhone 13-series are some of the best phones on the market at the present time.. The iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple’s most expensive iPhone, has the best performance, battery life, and camera quality of any iPhone currently on the market.

Though it lacks the home button that Chris Evans was most fond of in the iPhone 6s.

Why Chris Evans should get the iPhone SE

Despite the fact that the iPhone SE (2022) isn’t particularly impressive, it does preserve a long-cherished iPhone function. Because of the home button, Touch ID is much more feasible on the iPhone SE 2022 than it is on the iPhone 13.

Touch ID on the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE would be a welcome return to the high-end iPhone lineups, and I’d do practically anything to get it. I’d say the iPhone SE is better simply because it’s easier to get into my phone than the iPhone 13, even without mentioning the apparent changes between the iPhone SE (2022) and the iPhone 13.

I have no idea who Chris Evans is, but after reading his touching farewell note to his iPhone 6s, I’m confident he feels the same way I do about the home button.

Also, the iPhone 6s’ erratic charging and poor battery life were a source of frustration for Evans. So here’s a surprise: Using the Tom’s Guide Battery Test, the iPhone SE lasted for 9 hours and 5 minutes while accessing the internet on 5G at 150 nits of screen brightness. His 6-year-old iPhone has a far worse battery life, so this would be a significant upgrade.

Better still, the iPhone SE juices up swiftly with a 20W Apple charger. We were able to charge to 61% in just 30 minutes, so there should be plenty of time between Evans’ appearances on set to replenish the battery. When he takes Dodger on a walk. When he’s just hanging out and being attractive, for example… But enough of it.

Chris Evans claimed he wouldn’t miss the iPhone 6’s “grainy” images in addition to the phone’s poor battery life. This is the second time in recent memory that the iPhone SE has seemed like a substantial upgrade to him. The A15 Bionic processor’s computational photography allows the iPhone SE to shoot excellent images despite only having a single 12-megapixel back camera. You can’t beat the price for quality.

I’m going to presume that Captain America can afford any smartphone he desires. So, the $429 starting price of the iPhone SE against the $799 starting price of the iPhone 13 is probably of no consequence. Like many of us, he hasn’t upgraded to a new smartphone in the past few years. This choice had nothing to do with money, as his iPhone 6s isn’t among the devices that support iOS 16, but it’s clear that he needed a new phone anyhow.

However, I’d want to congratulate Chris Evans on getting his new iPhone. If I ever get the chance to meet him, I’ll be sure to tell him that the iPhone SE is the best upgrade for him.
