It’s hard to think that we’re nearly halfway through the month of July.. What’s up with the passage of time not respecting our boundaries? ‘ At least video games provide some relief from the inescapable descent towards old age.

Gamers were treated to a number of strange and unusual tales this week. Facebook wants everyone to act like it’s still 2010 when it comes to The Walking Dead: Last Mile. While Elden Ring was being beaten with a piano, someone else decided to do the same. The crazy Starfield release date rumor sparked a lot of attention. All of a sudden, it’s as though the summer heat is making everyone crazy.

The honorable mentions are plenty, so let’s go on. There have been a lot of important gaming stories to cover in the last week.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge sells more than 1 million copies

Shredder’s Revenge has been popular for decades, but no one expected it to sell as well as it has. In this day and age, arcade brawlers are a thing of the past. Doing nostalgia well leads to tremendous success, as the heroes in a half shell have shown. DLC is all that is needed now!

Trent Williams becomes a Madden NFL 99 club member

Trent Williams, a 49ers great, is one of just a handful of sportsmen to join Madden’s 99 Club. Williams will be the first offensive lineman to get a 99 overall rating when Madden NFL 23 is released this autumn. So, this is a significant event in the history of the country. This year’s inductees have not yet been revealed by Electronic Arts (EA), although that information is expected to be released shortly.

Assassin’s Creed Rift might be set in Baghdad

This one really got the gossip mill going. Everybody was speculating about the possibility of an Aztec setting for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed. Rift will be held in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, according to Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier. However intriguing this development may be, no one knows for sure what’s going on until Ubisoft reveals its plans.

Bayonetta 3 gets a release date

It’s hard to think of anything further to say about this. This autumn sees the release of Bayonetta 3. A lot of people doubted Platinum Games’ ability to pull this off, but they were proven incorrect. Viola, a new playable character in the third iteration, is a standout feature. You can restrict some of the nudity, so your family won’t be freaked out while you’re playing.

Skate will be free-to-play

Now it’s simply Skate, no more “Stake 4” or anything like that. If you’re a barbarian, you could use a period. A free-to-play version of EA’s sleek skateboarding game will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Playtesting is expected to begin shortly, although development is still in its infancy.

Fans bid farewell to Red Dead Online

This week, Red Dead Online’s fan-created funeral was the most talked about topic. Players aren’t thrilled that Rockstar isn’t updating the cowboy sim any longer save for little task items. Many people gathered earlier this week to share memories and reflect on what may have been, while also expressing their displeasure with Rockstar. A community exodus like this has never been observed in a multiplayer game before. It’s heartbreaking to witness, regardless of whether you played the game or not.
