Wireless earbuds, smartwatches, and smartphones all feature health sensors, which are becoming increasingly common. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is disputing a recent rumor that Apple’s next AirPods Pro 2 will contain built-in heart rate and body temperature sensors. Even if Apple is testing both health sensors on AirPods prototypes, Gurman says neither capability is ready for consumer versions of the device until at least 2022.
The Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to have body temperature monitoring, according to Gurman. All Serie 8 Watch models are expected to get the feature, which is presently being tested internally. Additionally, Gurman confirms reports about a tough version of the Series 8 watch for extreme sports enthusiasts.
In addition, Ross Young of the DSCC said that the Watch Series 8 display will have a diagonal measurement of 1.99 inches, which is an increase over the 1.9-inch panel found in the 45mm Series 7 model.
